Don’t you think the NCT do a great job?

May 13, 2010

All my pregnant friends have loved their NCT antenantal course. They’ve worried beforehand – will the other women be smug? and the leader Earth Mothery? or just plain weird? – but have ended up with a fab new set of understanding, supportive friends who are “just like me”. And they also happened to learn loads about the birth AND get their husbands to appreciate how amazing a woman’s body is. How great is that??

We’re really lucky to have the NCT in the UK – I haven’t yet found an equivalent organisation in France or Germany (can anyone suggest one?). Not only do theyprovide reassurance and information to (nervous) mums-to-be, but they also have a very carefully edited range of  must-have kit online, they lobby for better maternity pay and working conditions, they even organise workshops and events for new Mums and babies.

So we’re really chuffed to be attending their Big Weekend in Telford (yes, this weekend)! There will be workshops and seminars and talks and entertainment – all designed to offer invaluable parenting advice. I’m going to be showing off our new ranges to midwives, breastfeeding consultants and new mums and listening very hard to all their feedback. I’d love our Tutti Frutti range to be listed on their site and in their catalogue (we developped an H cup just for them!) so fingers crossed. Here’s to 2 days of babies, boobs and burps!
